Issue 3: Live Art: Radicalism and Complicity in a Scene of Contraint
https://doi.org/10.1080/10486801.2024.2388026
This article looks at unconventional archives in order to propose an ‘auto-archiving’ approach to queer and trans lived experiences. The writer starts from their own positionality as a trans-gender, trans-national, trans-disciplinary artist and researcher and goes on to describe a journey through the archives of other queer subjects such as Lou Reed and Quentin Crisp. This journey is at times real and at other times imagined, giving an affective account of how a visit to a haptic archive can productively unsettle notions of a stable self.
